Chungking
Brighton based 3 piece Chungking were formed in a cellar by Sean Hennessey, Jessie Banks and James Stephenson. After years of partying too hard and having too much fun they decided to do something that meant something. That something was making music. They locked themselves in a flat and set about creating the album ‘We Travel Fast’. It is a record of amazing depth and space, powerfully laid back music topped by Jessie’s incredible voice, a voice that has a smoldering sensuality but with the strength to uplift and warm any cold cellar.
In late 2004 Chungking’s debut album was remixed, remastered, in some parts re-recorded and re-released under the title ‘The Hungry Years’, with two new tracks and new luxurious packaging.
